About Our Accredited Providers and Facilities
They Care - So That They May Better Care for You!
Our Parkinson Proficient Communities are among the finest care facilities in the world. These Assisted Living, Nursing, Rehabilitation, Home Health Agencies, Hospitals and Hospices have gone the extra mile to learn to deliver optimal care for people with Parkinson's disease. Each facility has selected a team to train using the Parkinson Care Series. Most teams consist of a speech language pathologist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, dietician and several nurses. These people have completed and passed rigorous exams on all units of the Parkinson Care Series; Introduction, Nutrition, Speech, Emotional Health, Treatments and Medications, Daily Living, Exercise, and Fall Prevention. In most instances, all employees have viewed and mastered Introduction to Parkinson's disease. Many of our facilities offer specialized services for people with Parkinson's, their residents and others in their community. Specialized services some may offer include: - Speech Classes
- Balance Classes
- Support Groups
- Exercise Groups
- Library containing up-to-date information on PD
- Ask-Our-Team - Team members available on selected days to answer patient questions
Many of our partner organizations are actively involved with the Parkinson community. Besides offering specialized classes and groups, facilities provide volunteers for fundraising events, provide speakers for groups and educational symposia, and become sponsors for fundraising and educational events.
